DAY 1
ARRIVAL IN PARO | FIRST BREATH OF THE HIMALAYAS
Your approach into Paro is a quiet spectacle: snow-dusted Himalayan peaks rise close to the wingtip before the valley opens below in a wash of green and stone. After a warm, unhurried welcome, you are transferred to your lodge, tucked among pine forests and open farmland. Prayer flags stir softly in the breeze. The remainder of the day is intentionally unscheduled — time to rest, breathe, and allow Bhutan’s slower rhythm to settle in.
Meals included: Dinner.
DAY 2
PARO VALLEY & SACRED BEGINNINGS
Morning light spills gently across the Paro Valley as you begin your exploration. At the National Museum, centuries of Bhutanese history unfold through sacred thangkas, masks, and relics. Below, Paro Rinpung Dzong rises with quiet authority above the river — its courtyards and corridors echoing with monastic life. At Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, butter lamps glow in low-lit halls as pilgrims circle in devotion. The afternoon is left open for reflection, village walks, or simply stillness.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
DAY 3
TIGER’S NEST MONASTERY | PILGRIMAGE TO THE CLOUDS
An early start brings cool mountain air and the soft crunch of forest paths beneath your feet. The ascent to Taktsang, the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, unfolds gradually through pine and rhododendron, prayer flags fluttering overhead. As the monastery appears — improbably clinging to sheer cliffs — silence naturally takes hold. Time here is unhurried, allowing space to absorb both the view and the spiritual gravity of the site. Descend at your own pace before returning to the lodge for rest and quiet indulgence.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
DAY 4
PARO TO THIMPHU | VALLEY TO CAPITAL
Following the river east, the road to Thimphu winds through widening valleys and cultivated fields. Upon arrival, the National Memorial Chorten offers a living portrait of devotion — locals circumambulating, murmuring prayers, spinning prayer wheels in steady rhythm. Thimphu reveals itself gently: a capital without traffic lights, where monastic robes and business attire coexist. The afternoon is paced slowly, allowing impressions rather than itineraries to guide the experience.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
DAY 5
THIMPHU: TRADITIONS & DAILY LIFE
Today deepens your understanding of Bhutan’s living culture. At the Folk Heritage Museum, traditional homes and tools reveal the rhythms of rural life. Nearby, the Institute for Zorig Chusum preserves the kingdom’s thirteen sacred arts — students bent over wood, metal, and canvas in focused silence. In the afternoon, visit Tashichho Dzong, its whitewashed walls and golden roofs reflecting both spiritual and political life. Evening is free for quiet contemplation or a gentle stroll through town.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

DAY 6
THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA | ACROSS THE PASS
The ascent to Dochula Pass is often wrapped in drifting mist. When clouds part, the Himalayan range appears in luminous succession, framed by 108 memorial chortens. Descending into Punakha, the air warms and the valley opens into fertile lowlands. Punakha Dzong stands at the confluence of two rivers, its setting both commanding and serene. The remainder of the day invites rest, riverside walks, or simply watching light shift across the valley.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
DAY 7
PUNAKHA VALLEY WALK | RURAL GRACE
A gentle walk leads through rice fields and quiet villages, where daily life unfolds unselfconsciously. At Chimi Lhakhang, laughter and devotion mingle — a place of blessing and hope. The afternoon returns you to the lodge’s calm embrace: perhaps a riverside moment, a spa ritual, or time spent listening to the valley’s stillness. Punakha encourages slowness, and today fully honors that invitation.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
DAY 8
RETURN TO PARO & DEPARTURE
The journey back to Paro traces familiar valleys now imbued with memory. As you prepare for departure, Bhutan lingers — not as a checklist completed, but as a felt experience of quiet landscapes, sacred spaces, and measured time.
Meals included: Breakfast.
